Thursday, January 15th, 1998
Dragon, Smash, Lance Pope, and myself all load up and head for an early admission at Disneyland. While the weather looks great, it starts drizzling and raining around 10:00, chasing the costume characters away. I was looking to get pictures with Beast, and all I saw of him was his back as he high-tailed it out of the wet. Still, we met up with Wildwolf and Ixbalam and spent most of the day riding everything in sight.
We get back to the hotel around 7:00, and I'm thankful that Lance and I had pre-registered. Both of us just walk up and have our badges in under five minutes. Dragon waits in line for almost an hour to get an attending membership. I run into Werwuf the Hunter and Foxx in their fursuits in the lobby.

| I finally decide that I need to get into Silvermane, and wind up at the Techno-Fur dance (Thanks to Zrath-Smiley for DJing), but there aren't enough dancers . . . I wind up just outside the door, talking with Stego in his wolf head. BTW, thanks to Stego (along with other furs) for helping keep the Fursuit Lounge staffed and open. |  |
Friday, January 16th, 1998
After he picked up his badge, we dragged Brokken to Disney until three in the afternoon. I'm glad we did; that's how I finally caught up with Disney's Beast. It's Brokken's first visit to Disneyland, too.
Made it back in time to get Brokken in his lion for the fursuit performance SIG; rode with Sly Fox in the elevator to the SIG. Thanks go out to Jimmy Chin/Yippee Coyote, Brokken, Croc, Sly Fox, Teddy Ruxpin, and Nicodemus (in the panda) for the entertaining in fursuit SIG. Unfortunately my flash died totally as the SIG started - total failure - so all my pictures here were dark. I talked with Snowy Dog on the sidelines for a bit as the SIG winds down.
The performance SIG ends at 6:00 - and there's no sign of the hotel setting up the ice cream social in the same room. A group of us cut out to eat dinner at Goodies instead - that took so long that I missed Top Fox's how to dance in costume presentation.
Before we leave for dinner I get a call from Dark Fang - he wasn't going to make it because of circumstances beyond his control. Damn.
Coming back from dinner I run into Nicodemus, from Secret of NIMH, made and worn by Robert Beech. This fursuit won Best Animation Recreation at the 1984 WorldCon.

Finally, I stuck my muzzle into the Internet room just long enough to snap this picture. Wonder how many of these folks were on FurryMUCK?
Brokken shows up in the lobby in his new 'zoot, now named Sawtooth. We play around for a while, dragging Hunter into the fray.
Worn out, we all head up to Lance's room to finish fitting Brokken's second new werewolf head - this one's furred.
Wildwolf and Smash come by as I was getting into Silvermane, and we wind up out in the hall, hamming it up for pictures.
We all go our seperate ways, looking for fun. I try to get to the AHWW get-together, being held near the art show. When I get there, the hotel staff had locked the room some time before, and was in the process of locking down the whole floor. I couldn't find where the meeting had been moved to, so I headed back downstairs.

Torrle, Wildwolf, Big Bad Wolf, Yippee Coyote and Seether (Dean Wendell) are roaming the lobby, and we all head back to Torrle's room for a group picture. I run around with them in the fur the rest of the night. It's around 4:00 am when I finally get out of fursuit and go to bed.
